Influence of Jasmine oil and Methyl Jasmonate on Gene Expression and Menthol Production in Mentha

Mentha is the major source of menthol used for many important commercial and pharmaceutical purposes. For enhanced production, this study aimed to assess influence foliar application Jasmine oil Methyl Jasmonate by 0.05 0.1% on gene expression, essential oil, its component especially Menthol in piperita L. Exogenously (MeJA) (JO) treatments induced alteration expression patterns which was detected a cDNA-SCoT technique with high informative discrimination capability. Where it targeted 33 clear transcript-derived amplicons, 21 out them were new transcripts. Differential analysis these illustrated that higher concentration at 48 h followed MeJA-0.1% 24 h. On other hand, mfs-transcripts differentially regulated MeJA JO treatments. In general, results revealed level volatile percentages (1.52 1.47-fold) low menthone (0.69 0.77- fold), lowest upregulated menthofuran (-0.88 -0.72 Log2FC). Besides, good vegetative growth relative control found exogenously 0.05% after h, increases pharmacological quality plant. Subsequently, indicating possibility using (Low-cost) further as stimulant activity production cheaper alternative MeJA.
